I just recently read Rainbow Rowell's book Fangirl, and I absolutely loved the characters and the format! So a story like The Extraordinaries, that promises a similar vibe with a unique twist, sounds almost too good to be true! From the beginning with it's fanfiction within the fiction to the moment we realize that Nick Bell isn't just writing about a fictional crush but a real life superhero, I was falling in love with him and his love for Shadow Star. Within the first pages we already get such a glimpse into who he is as a person, his relationships with his parents, and his struggles. It just left me wanting more, ready to turn more pages and find out how Nick is going to tackle all of it as he heads into the new school year. And although they say to never judge a book by it's cover alone, this cover fully grabbed my attention with it's fun, colorful style; the ombre especially makes it whimsical and inviting (I'm sure to match the story inside) and I know this book would look beautiful on my TBR shelf!
