After reading several of Klune’s other series’ I was excited to see the author’s first foray into YA. And with superheroes to boot! The cover keeps in line with current LGBT titles in that I can see it is likely going to have LGBT themes. That is handy for most of the current YA LGBT books around as they can be hard to identify. I don’t love the line art of the boys but I’m not super bothered by it either. But I try hard not to judge a book by its cover.

The plot of the sneak peek is pretty catching. Any reader who has delved into the world of fanfiction will identify with the opening pages and laugh because they are true to form for fanfics. It gives us a clever intro to the characters we will meet and the main character’s perspective of them as well.
The awkward dad interactions are adorable and uncomfortable in equal parts. Sad backstory of mom is softly included and away we go!!
I would definitely read this book, even if I wasn’t already a fan of the “How To” books and the “At First Sight” books.
I think the diction is appropriate for the younger age level but I hope Klune doesn’t keep things too PG. I want awkward hardons and sexy talk even if there’s not full blown raunchy sex scenes.
