I'm getting all of the good feelings from this book--all of them. Fangirl vibes yes, but there's more attention to the internet culture aspect and what it's like to be a obsessive fan and that's a big part of what I felt was missing from Fangirl.

The teenaged fanfic writing is SPOT ON--just hilariously, purposefully not good, scarily accurate to the sort of stuff I was writing and reading back then. It made me cringe and laugh out loud.

I already adore Nick, and his mortifying father who loves him very much. I wanna learn more about the setting and possibly find out Shadow Star's true identity (maybe not as badly as Nick wants to find out, but I'm pretty excited) and just, everything.
