I won this copy, and was so excited to read it. The finalized cover is gorgeous, and the synopsis is so captivating.... but honestly I was not into this book. I was comparing this one to After the Flood so much that the storyline bores me a little too much. I also thought there was an unnecessary amount of details in this story and it lost me about half way through the storyline. I also don’t like books with unnecessary storylines and the more I read Signe’s storyline the more I was not into her memories and thoughts. Honestly I’m disappointed in the storyline and found myself much more captivated by David’s story than Signe’s story. If this book was only told from the perspective of David it would be a 5 star read. 2/5. This one just wasn’t for me.
