I do not know if I have adequate words to describe the book I just read. I had no idea what it would entail when I read it and I can definitely say I was surprised. The best word I can find is heartbreaking. This was a story of heartbreak. Of people suffering and finding out how to move on after the hard stuff has happened. There were a lot of things that bothered me in this book. I will not mention them so as not to give away spoilers, but in the end it was a hard read. The dad, David, and his daughter Lou had a tough relationship for me to follow. In some ways I saw him as the selfless father figure. However, in another way I saw him as very selfish. It was a hard dynamic to figure out. I didn’t know what to think.
