I immediately felt drawn to the cover art of this novel. The vibrant, water color feel the design conveys is simply lovely.

The story opens up about the cycle of water and how it touches and changes with each aspect of its life, until it circles back to the starting point. I found this very rhythmic and poetic in nature. Signe's point of view was interesting to me in the current day, but her reminisces felt solemn.

David's point of view was heartbreakingly relatable. He seemed so vulnerable, and on the verge of loosing his composure. The reader can feel his desperation and understand his struggle for optimism.

Overall, this appears to be a story driven by rich characters and landscapes. It seems the glacier hacking has led to more severe global warming issues that have now impacted a futuristic Europe resulting in draughts.
