Reading this intro feels like trudging through two feet of snow - getting through a page feels like an accomplishment but I'm exhausted afterwards. Definitely not something I can see myself doing for hundreds of pages. The attention to detail is just very descriptive and doesn't catch my attention. Also the staccato rhythm of the sentence structure, how chopped and clipped the phrases are between sentences with dashes, it's jarring. I don't know if I would be able to get immersed into the story if that's prevalent throughout. However, the cover is beautiful, love the vivid, colorful imagery.
