Good writing but plot didn’t catch my interest

The writing in this passage was beautiful. Unfortunately, I found the content less than riveting. The second chapter with David’s perspective was the most interesting, but then I lost interest in his story as well. Plus the medical scene was too gruesome for my tastes. And none of the other characters’ perspectives caught my interest.
