I love the cover and the concept of a father and daughter traveling across a barren landscape together. The cover is great and the title is striking. I appreciate when authors give characters depth and a lot of backstory, but it feels like this may not have quite hit the right balance between backstory and action. I'm hearing random childhood memories on page one, and I have no idea who the characters are, so I'm kind of bored. I'm not sure.
