I am a sucker for beautiful covers. I’ve never heard of this book before but all the blues and pinks and yellows captivated me easily. The way the book is written also allows for some beautiful imagery: I can clearly see the glacier (despite never having seen am actual glacier in my life) and I can see the memories of the main protangist clearly.

The first few pages are also alreay inspiring. I really want to make a difference to help the envionrment and the imagery used, "I...place my hand against the ice—it is alive beneath my fingers...a huge, calm animal that sleeps. But it is a wounded animal and it can’t roar—it is being drained minute by minute, second by second, it is already dying." This imagery combined with David's story about the future - the heartache is so real and I know that I don't want this to continue to be our reality.

On a lighter note! I love how one of the characters is an old lady - usually that's not a perspective that I see too often. I would quite like to continue this book to see what happens. However, I really do not know how to pronouce many of the names that are mentioned! (Clearly, I don't know enough - or any - Norweigen).
