First I want to talk about the cover! It is so beautiful. Second I loved the culture that Melissa De La Cruz put into this book I really enjoyed reading and learning about filipino mythology and the lore that is involved.
In this book we get a look into our main character MJ Rodriguez life! She is half Encanto and an ONLY CHILD! which means she is next in line for the throne. When her father suddenly dies she's gets quite a surprise and must claim her way to the throne.
I really enjoyed this book the set up of the world was easy to follow A great read for beginner fantasy readers.
I usually love everything that Melissa De La Cruz writes so it was no surprise when I was instantly captivated by this book! I am a little older than the intended audience age but that did not stop me from really enjoying this book! I can't say enough good things about this book when it comes out I am hoping that my niece will read it because I think she would really enjoy it! I am so grateful and glad that I was chosen as a bookish first winner to review this book!
