A young woman assumes the throne of a nation influenced by Filipino mythology. MJ Rodriguez has lived her entire life hidden from the human race and harboring a deep secret. She's kind of infatuated. She is also the next in line for the throne because she is King Vivencio of the Sirena Court's sole child. And now that her father has passed away unexpectedly, MJ needs to assert her claim to the throne. What I disliked was that it was all over the place in regard to a theme. It starts as a thriller then schoolish vibes and finally some murder mystery. I did not see the Filipino influence as it should have been present. This book has potential if it sticks with one theme throughout the book. It would have worked if it transitioned properly and it made sense. I had to re-read some chapters because I was completely lost as to what was going on. But hey give it a try maybe you will find it more fun.
