Fantasy inspired by Filipino mythology
I will start with the cover because it’s the first thing I noticed, it’s pretty and a good precursor to what this book will be about, royalty and politics with a hint of something softer and more loving. Immediately after the cover, the book, jumped into action with our protagonist, MJ, evading capture. Later in the book she hade to navigate a nefarious political landscape while symotanusly exploring romance with Lucas
It was realy nice to read a philipeno YA romance/fantasy becous I have never read anything like it befoe. because of this, dermatology that the books world was inspired by, was unique in the fantasy other world YA romance genre. Unfortunately juxtaposing that was a fairly standard romance, fantasy plot with a bit of split focus, that's not necessarily a bad thing but it does leave something to be desired. Over all I liked this book
