I like starting with talking about the cover, because cover art is what draws me in, way before the title and description. This cover is stunning. I love the crown and font of the title.
I love books by Melissa de la Cruz. There's something about her books that I love, and I love this book.
When I first started reading, the first thing I noticed was the maps. I love when books have maps in the beginning. The next thing was the writing itself. I just love the story. It was refreshing in the this isn't my genre but kind of is my genre kind of way.
This book starts fast paced. You think the main character is droning on at school and then boom: insurgents are after her, her father is dead, and now she has to hide in a fairy realm. The only thing that will make thia better are some flirtations(fingers crossed that there will be.)
This book excerpt reminded of something I've read but I can't place it.
