No, it's not the Disney Encanto, but it's as captivating and heartfelt! This is a great read for those who want to immerse themselves into another realist and fantastical world. I was excited to see more representation of characters in minoritized backgrounds.

Readers will cheer on the main character MJ as she navigates the backstabbing council and inner circle, and while she explores a burgeoning yet tumultuous romance with Sir Lucas of Singbin Court. It's a tale as old as time that even a modern day woman can resonate with - can a young woman have it all?

With that said, this book is not for folks that do not enjoy fantasy or romance books. I am on such a cliffhanger now - the next book can come out now, please! I am excited to read more of Melissa de la Cruz's books. This was the perfect rainy day read, I highly recommend that folks check it out.
