Usually fantasy books of any age group take it's time for the world building, not this one. Its went straight into the action form the beginning. Builds up suspense and fear before throwing us and MJ into a whole new world. For only a little bit, the book also show how close MJ and her mother is. I lost myself in the story and now I can't wait to know more.
