I'm excited about this book... right from the beginning it hurtles into the action and the world. I'm giving the First Look four stars because it is a *little* bit breakneck in its pacing, but I like that we don't mess around with any sort of "oh I didn't realize that the legends were real..." stuff that honestly gets so boring in fantasy novels. Our narrator knows what's up, she's defiant, and she's smart. I have a feeling I'll love this one!
