The cover makes me think of historical fantasy more than contemporary.
It is interesting that she know already about the fantasy world and culture usually main character does not know causing there be conflict with parents. I do not find myself interested in the beginning of the story. It is good that the action starts off immediately in chapter one and the mythology is interesting.
