Right off the bat, we are thrown into action and following MJ into this wild adventure. I loved how quickly we dive into the story and that the pace continues to match the intensity of the events unfolding around the main character. The world-building descriptions and explanations of magic were interwoven into the storyline perfectly and didn't distract or derail the pace at all. Before the end of the first look, I was hooked and cannot wait to dive into more of this book!
