This book is poor timing as it involves a flu and apocalypse. I enjoyed the writing but struggled with reading things close to real life. I enjoyed the characters but not the events of the books. I didn’t like the circular or multiverse theory. Honestly, multiverses tire me and piss me off. I enjoyed reading something different from my go to books but not enough to read tired tropes. Kit and Nico were the most interesting characters but I had trouble connecting to other characters in the book. I had bigger hopes for this book especially in regards to character growth which was largely lacking. I did generally enjoy the narrative which is why I hoped for a bigger character arc. I prefer character driven stories to plot driven stories and thus is clearly more plot driven. I did live Kit and Harry in particular and nico evoked strong feelings though her parents were not well defined.
