It is really had for me to describe the feelings drowning me after finishing this magnificent book. The plot was so original and even though we are currently living in a pandemic and it is quite scary, I am so glad that we’re not in the same situation as the characters are.
I have to admit that at first it was really confusing for me to understand what was happening, everything seemed bizarre and random, but as the book unravels the bits of information that once seemed senseless click on your mind creating plot twist and a thousand theories. I loved that the book kept me guessing what was going to happen next and every time something I was definitely not expecting, makes its way through the book and fits perfectly.
The characters feel so real, almost 3D. I could feel sorrow, happiness, worry, personal growth, doubts, love, empathy, all the emotional spectrum was perfectly condensed in simple carefully written lines. The fact that the reader can relate to the characters and understand their motivations is so immersive that before you know it you’ll be half way through the book.
The events in the book are hard to understand, and since I don’t want to give spoilers I’m just gonna say that they are peculiar. The ending was not predictable, although I still have a lot of questions (lets hope the author gives a sequel).
Twist and turns haven so much that you wont even know you just read one (Im serious, it happened). There are so many details that may seem insignificant but when they connect to another piece of information, your mind will be blown.
In summary, amazing cast of characters, creepy apocalyptic world, plot twists everywhere, simply a masterpiece. Recommended to Young adults and adults, because why not? Everyone should read about a pandemic during COVID times.
