I found the dialogue to be really entertaining, it pulled me in and kept me reading. The descriptions around the dialogue were engaging and vivid, a fact that I very much enjoyed. I think my favorite part was the first line, “Life begins with a snowstorm.” That’s such a mysterious opening and it immediately grabbed my attention, but it also laid the foundation for the first chapter. I knew, without having to read too far down, that something bad was going to happen.
The diction used sets the tone for the novel appropriately and puts the reader firmly in the world of The Electric Kingdom. The characters felt like they could jump off the page and be real people, not a single one flat or one dimensional. This book Will no doubt be a big hit, from the fast paced writing to the fleshed out characters. Overall I will definitely be picking up a copy of my own.
