a unique book I have mixed feelings about but still enjoyed

Thank you so much to Penguin Teen and Bookish first for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions expressed are my own. The Electric Kingdom was definitely unlike anything I have ever read before. The storyline reminded me of 2020, but even more strange and surprising! It had such a unique plot and was executed very well. I also loved how the book had multiple character point of views. The only issue I had with the book is that it was very confusing and weird. I felt that nothing made sense until the very end. However, that did make the conclusion very satisfying and exciting. I believe that this is a really great book, but maybe not my personal taste. I usually love dystopian books, but I believe the plot was a bit too confusing and strange for my tastes. Also, I felt like the storyline of the book took a lot of inspiration from 2020 and I felt too reminded of reality while reading. All in all, I feel like it is definitely an interesting book and I have never read anything like it!
