You had me at Station Eleven... well, you really had me at any type of post-apocalyptic, end-of-the-world tale. But this one, The Electric Kingdom by David Arnold, seems ready to impress all readers. The writing is wonderful and I was instantly drawn to the main character Nico (and at eighteen years old I like the fact that she isn’t too young of a protagonist). And she has a dog! The cover illustration is amazing with wonderful typography - the whole look grabbed my attention right away!
