So I haven't read either of the books this one is compared to, but I've read a fair amount of post apocalyptic/dystopian fiction and when it's done well, I really enjoy it. This sounds like it definitely has potential. And wow, can we talk about that cover?? GORGEOUS. It made me want to read this without even knowing anything about it.
