First, the cover is absolutely gorgeous. And the premise is intriguing, if a bit triggering in the midst of this pandemic. I loved the opening--the writing was direct and engaging, and I immediately hated the husband in the second pov section. The switch to the 'main' novel, though, was less engaging, and it reminded me a bit of David Mitchell (not a favorite) and other authors of giant multi-voiced novels.
