Carly is a young pregnant woman in North Carolina in 1970 who has a decision to make for her future daughter that asks the reader: how far will a mother go for her children?
This is a book everyone should go into as blind as possible because of how fun and enthralling the story is — with a trigger warning ⚠️ if you are highly sensitive on the topic of the possibility of losing a young child. I mean, who isn’t — just know your limits because this book had me bawling at parts.
This was another fantastic motherhood read for me. And if motherhood is a book genre, I AM ALL ABOUT IT.
The Dream Daughter is a book that captured me from the start and I couldn’t put it down. This is a quick, easy read that packs an extraordinary story, pulls out all of the emotions, and gets the reader thinking, “What would I do if that happened to me?”
Diana Chamberlain wrote an unforgettable story with motherhood at center stage. I’d recommend this to all mothers who don’t mind a (really) good cry in the midst of a fun adventure with a hint of historical fiction.
