Carly is 27 when she loses her husband and finds out that her unborn child is severely sick. She is devastated, but her brother-in-law, who has always seemed a little off, comes up with an outrageous idea. If Carly decides to accept his proposal, will she be able to save her child’s life?

The Dream Daughter tells the story of a young mother, who will do anything for her child. This is something most people can relate to: either because they are parents themselves or because they know the cozy feeling of being loved unconditionally by their parents. And this is exactly how Diane Chamberlain establishes emotional ties to the reader. I did not expect this story to evolve like this at all. I was surprised by so many twists and turns, that I forgot about the science-fiction behind it. It was interesting how I bonded with Carly: I shared her hopes, dreams, fears and, yes, some tears as well. I honestly think that the book loses some of its pace in the second part, but nonetheless, it is a very unique story that really touched my heart. Five thumbs up for this piece of art.
