Diane Chamberlain writes brilliantly in a manner that pulls a reader in. We meet Carly and Hunter on the PT ward at a hospital where Carly is interning. Years later, we see where Carly introduction of Hunter to her sister, brings about their marriage. Hunter is a doting husband and father.

Later Carly is married to Joe when the story really picks up. Joe goes off to war when Carly finds herself pregnant. She later finds out there is something wrong with her daughter's heart, when Hunter shares with her his knowledge of a procedure that could save her life. Only one catch, the procedure is available in the future. While Carly struggles to believe Hunter, she's even more desperate to save her unborn daughter's life.

So off Carly goes and by off, I mean she has to jump off a bridge and wham, into a time pocket. I think I've said enough that you'll have to read the book to know the ending.

All I can say is I cried my heart out. So much joy and pain in this book, you won't be disappointed.
