You just can’t ever go wrong with a Diane Chamberlain book. Each is so different but forced you to think and adapt. This excerpt is so intriguing and I felt so badly immediately for the elderly man. We tend to treat the old and less than healthy men and women as if they aren’t living, breathing humans. They may not be adequately able to express themselves or physically able to communicate. Their minds may not be as sharp as they once were and they experience the frustration in not getting their needs or feelings across. It takes a special kind of person to be a caregiver and be able to advocate and listen. I am already sucked into what appears to be a very special bond and relationship forming and anticipation of where this story will take me
