As a long time fan of Diane Chamberlain, I was SO excited to read this book! I was not disappointed; however, I was very surprised by how different this book is from the rest of her collection.
This book follows Caroline Sears, a pregnant woman in the 1970s, who finds out that her unborn daughter has a heart defect. A man enters her life who tells her he knows a way that her daughters heart can be fixed.
I absolutely loved Carly's character - she's devoted, brave, and courageous. Chamberlain writes characters in a way that you feel like you know them and care about them. That being said, I prefer previous books written by Chamberlain. I had a little trouble suspending my disbelief which took away from my enjoyment of the novel - but I would still highly recommend this book!
