In 1970 recently widowed and pregnant Carly is told that her baby will not survive it’s heart defect and there is no hope. Her brother in law (who Carly met under mysterious circumstances) tells her he is actually from 2018 and he can send her to 2001 where fetal surgery can save her child. He has not picked that date randomly as he remembers meeting her in 2001. Carly finds herself alone in a new time hoping the risk will save her daughter. Hunter had given Carly several portals so she could return with her daughter to 1970. Joanna is sicker than Hunter anticipated and Carly is running out of time. She makes an agonizing choice to leave her daughter on September 9th and hopes to return within a day or two....but 9/11 changes everything.
