The excerpt is the prologue of the book, and it along with the blurb are definitely enough to pique my interest. It seems to be some sort of time-travel (or similar) story--I kind of got a Time Traveler's Wife kind of vibe from it--and it absolutely left me wanting to know more. Who is Hunter? Where/when has he come from? Is he going to choose to stay in Carly's place/time, or is he unable to get back to where/when he came from? I've been meaning to read a book from this author, and this looks to be a great one to start with!
