This sounds very much like a presentation I had to do for class about a child born with a heart defect, and how they transplanted a baboom heart into her, and all the ethics of that decision. I am definitely intrigued, and I love books with science in them, and this has all the makings of a book that would break my heart and make me sob along with the main character, and I do so love those books.
