One of my favorite things to look for in a new book is a gimmick, or a hook that catches my attention. The Dinner List definitely had a great hook to it! At first it was a little hard to get into the story because the dialogue and writing felt a little stilted, short. sentences. like this. But then I felt like the author found her groove and I was swept into the story. That being said I did see things coming and wasn't surprised when I felt I was supposed to be. I disagreed with the main character about different aspects of life, but I think that just made her feel more real to me. I would probably recommend this book to some of my friends, but wish it hadn't been quite so predictable in parts.
