I was expecting a light read, which it is at times, but this story digs deep into grief, forgiveness, love, and I think it will take me a while to fully process the things the book has you thinking about, beginning with the simple question of, "If you could have dinner with any 5 people living or dead who would they be?" This a genius frame (the dinner party) through which the author tells the story of 10 years of the main character Sabrina's life. One comical aspect of this frame, though, is, it seems like most people, when making a dinner party list, don't consider the interaction of the guests. The interactions of Audrey Hepburn with Sabrina's guests whom she has very complex relationships with are an entertaining part of the story as well.
The book is a fairly quick read, but the complexity of the relationships will have it on my mind for a while. Definitely worth the time!
