So, let's say you are planning a dinner party for your birthday and can invite any 5 people, even dead people. Yeah, dead people, who, come and aren't dead for the dinner. So, that's the premise of this story. Other than that, I think it was ok. Ha! I can definitely see book clubs choosing this one and having everyone decide who they would invite to a dinner party. I could see how there would be lots to discuss? Who are you inviting? Why did you invite that person? Why didn't you invite someone else? Who was the great love of your life? Did someone die too young? Was there someone you always wanted to meet and talk to and never had the chance? Sometimes, when I don't like a book, that makes for a good discussion at book club.
