I won this book through Bookish First and was asked to provide a fair review in exchange. All opinions are my own. I was intrigued by the premise of actually having dinner with a list of people that you made many years ago. We have all played that game where we make a list of people we would love to dine with, whether they are living, dead, or real. Sabrina’s list includes a former college professor, her father, her best friend, a former love, and Audrey Hepburn. Obviously, this is the type of book that you must just suspend your disbelief, buckle up and go for the ride. Why these people? Why now? These are the questions you find yourself asking as the book begins. As we learn Sabrina’s story, the significance of each of these folks are revealed. At hear, this is a coming of age story, a love story, and about making peace with how your life unfolds. It was sweet and fun, with enough touches of seriousness to keep it grounded and real. Some of the story lines are obvious and what you would expect for this type of read, but a few original ideas kept this interesting and worth the time.
