After reading Rebecca Serle's other book In Five Years, I knew I had to get my hands on the Dinner List. Serle's writing is relatable and she makes it very easy to get invested in the story from the very start. She finds a way to make a romance novel fresh, by crafting a unique story in a genre that can sometimes seem a bit stale. I loved that the premise of this story is such a common ice breaker or even interview question, and thought Serle was very clever to have imagined this story. This book is charming and sweet and unlike anything I've read before. While I enjoyed In Five Years, Serle truly outdid herself with The Dinner List, and I still remained impressed by her originality. Serle really knows how to bring a fresh perspective to the romance genre and I would be excited to read any other book she publishes. Would definitely recommend reading this book if you're looking for a unique romance book.
