I was so interested in this idea of a fantasy world where one carries the memories of all. Very Giver-esque. It makes me question why memories are only carried by one if the memories are telling them who they are. Memories are found at the bottom of the ocean and easily passed from one to another. Memories that tell who a person is. A weak protagonist who actually seems stronger than her description. The agony that Yetu feels is emphatically written. She's a beautiful character that many can relate to - appearing strong but internally weak. Her compassion oozes out of the pages. A mermaid who knows everything. Not to mention the cover is amazingly and hauntingly beautiful. I can’t wait to read more about Yetu.
