Although this book was small, the message was huge. I seriously felt like the meaning and all the passion and heart that went into this book was trickling at the seams. Not only is this a diverse read, that holds representation, it's also informative of African culture which I can appreciate greatly. The message was woven so beautifully, the ideas were creative and unique. This book was swift to catch my attention, not only is the world building out of this world *winks, see what I did there* but the magic system of mermaids is so intricate, and I feel delicate, yet so so strong. Her writing style is flowery, and poetic, something that is enough to make your heart throb with a feeling of longing you didn't know you had. Excellent read.
