I feel like we were thrown into the middle of the book. It was very hard for me to really get into it. The premise of the story is very promising, but I don’t feel like it was really talked about much. Some of the use of hard to pronounce names, long words, etc, took me right out of the story. It just didn’t flow very well. I understand the need for the character to be kind of spaced out, as she is remembering the histories of all the dead ones, but it seemed like too much. It was very disjointed, and hard to follow. I feel like if we had maybe stared out with reading about the first pregnant woman thrown overboard, and what happened to her first, it might have been better. It then could have gone into the current situation with the main character.
