This was such an interesting and beautiful book. It's filled with stunning prose and a descriptiveness that I really loved and made this book feel like an experience more than just a story. I loved the African folklore influence in this story and it really made it stand out as something unique and incredibly needed in the speculative fiction genre.
One of my favorite things about The Deep was all of the incredible themes that are explored and how much commentary that this book provides on important and relevant topics and conversations. I really loved the character of Yetu and following her along all of her decisions and journey in this story.
