A fantasy novel that is based upon pregnant African slaves is not something you come across every day or even something I had an idea that I wanted to read but once I read it I feel in love both with the story and the writing itself. I found this to be a dark but beautifully told modern day myth.
This novel was a supernatural journey through time that easily holds the interest and leaves you wanting to know even more. I am eager to read more by this author and to see where her mind can take me to next. I also am intrigued to learn more about the musician who created the song.
