I have long had a fascination with the sea and all the stories that can be told from within it. The moment I saw the elegant, yet almost somber artwork adorning the cover, I was intrigued. As I poured over the synopsis, I was struck by two things. First, a unique approach, both culturally, and in that the history of the people is being caretaken basically and passed down.. which appeals to my Island roots. And second, most surprisingly, the inspiration. Daveed Diggs is an incredibly talented artist and I am really pleased to see his work inspiring others.
