I was really excited to read an excerpt of this book, but unfortunately it fell flat for me. The author dives right into the mind of Yetu and her thoughts and feelings, but us readers know little to nothing of the world she lives in. It is written as if we are supposed to have a prior knowledge of this world. However, I like the writing and want to keep reading to see where the story goes.
