I loved the premise of The Deep. Ladies descended from slaves that fell off the slave ships? Sounds exciting! Unfortunately, the concept wasn't well-executed. There was a lot of infodumping in the section I read. It didn't seem like a lot happened and I didn't connect with the characters.
