I have never read a book that features such an interesting combination of historical context and sci-fi/fantasy. I was a little thrown off by the style of writing at first (not a critique just an observation), but as I was reading I came to really appreciate the specificity of detail especially when re-creating a world for the reader. This book gave me some similar vibes to The Giver and made me very intrigued to read more!
