I've been looking forward to this book for a while. I'm both a fan of Daveed Diggs and of Rivers Solomon, and when I first saw the beautiful cover I was already over the moon.
The opening chapters were very different from what my own imagination had come up with, especially when it came to voice of the main character, but I really like that we've got a character here that really doesn't like being The Chosen One. The snippets of memories were tantalizing, and I'm really looking forward to more.
