I love the concept of a society of people whose ancestors were the pregnant African woman tossed from the slavers' ships. I also like that there is only one person who can remember all of it. That is their job, and this allows everyone else to live their lives in peace. But how can someone live if they don't know who they are or where they came from? I just need to know what happens next!
